l have a 1990 Mitsubishi Galant that l bought from the original owner this past january, and at the time he did say that the a/c did not work, though he did not know why. Now that summer is approaching I'd like to get it fixed - when l do try to turn it on, it only blows hot air. l do not know if it is something a simple as needing more coolant or what. If it is something more than coolant, how much does it typically cost?

How much does it cost to fix car air conditioning

My mom had a car about the same year, Buick I believe, I bought her a Brand new one from the dealer for $650. I went to Wal-Mart for mine & got the new R-24 & adapters. I bought a 4pk w/1 oil & 3 R24s. Run the AC, MOTOR RUNNING, ON HIGH. Run the oil 1st, with someone in the car u add enough cans of freon to make the air Cold, then stop. They adapter kit is very easy to add on. they screw to the existing ones & u just leave them there. Make sure to get the filler line. I think with all the Goodies I paid about $50.
