It had a musty odor for a couple of weeks and today it just began to blow out hot air instead of cold

you probably will have to take it to a shop to get it repaired,this is something you wont be able to do at home,the system will have to be checked for leaks,and also the heater box assembly may have to be cleaned out on it,good luck with it.

it took a crap , take it to a shop
