HVACMAN is right, if this is your furnace unit (not a portable or window unit) you more than likely have a air flow problem. Dude call an expert in to clean your furnace (coil included), it is not that expensive and it may save you money in the long run. Replacing the coil or fixing a line is almost like putting new eqiupment $$$
You might be able to fix it yourself. You can get free info at hvac-for-beginners.com Your air filter could be really dirty.
It is possible u have one of two problems. First, make sure u have good airflow in the house. Check all ur vents to make sure they r blow air. If the airflow is diminished then u have an extremely dirty filter, collapsed duct work which will prevent proper airflow, or a bad blower motor. All of those things can cause the unit to freeze up in the summer time.
Next, u could have a refrigerant leak. When the refrigerant leaks out of the system the evaporator coil will operate below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. When it does this all the moisture in the air freezes to the evaporator coil & eventually this works its way down to the compressor. In this case case it is imperative to shut the unit off & call a qualified HVAC contractor to repair the problem. The other problems mentioned above may also need the attention of a qualified HVAC contractor.
The A/C is ok, but the pressure in the unit is a little high. You probably have the unit in the sun, or the humidity is really high. Turn the unit off and let the frost evaporate. When you turn it on again, cut the setting back a couple of numbers on the dial. It will work better and cost you less.
let it thaw he means, it could take a couple hours. the unit is probably working constantly and never able to cycle, which is ok, but you eventually probably need a bigger unit. but i know those are expensive, but for now, just let it thaw.
happens to me all the time. it usually happens to me when i leave it on for a long time.
Just put it on fan and it should defrost. takes about an hour.
It has a leak in the gas lines. You need to call a repairman. Have the leak found and fixed, and new freon or other gas put back in . Sometimes its only a loose connection, but you still need a repair tec to find and fix,
LET IT EVAPORATE ITSELF THEN TURN IT ON AGAIN-IF IT HAS FROST ON IT ITS ACTUALLY WORKING.
