Condensation is a sign that refrigeration wise ur air conditioner is running well. As suggested the drain needs clearing, not all units have float switches & they r only a safety devise, u still need to find the cause of the blockage.

That aside, excessive condensation can be caused by icing up of the coil, the common reasons for this happening is having the thermostat set too low & / or restricted air flow.

Check the thermostat setting, check that the indoor fan is running, check no duct has collapsed, check that sufficient zones r opened (if installed) & check ur filter/s r clean.

With limited or no air flow the coil has no heat load & ices up, eventually the compressor turns off & the ice melts, the drains r not designed to cope with this excess water.

Do not be side tracked either, it may just be built up from the past. Check the indoor & outdoor units r running, check u have a cool suction 'big pipe'.

Good luck!

You & Rich hit the nail on the head. The pan should have a float switch in it to shut the system down in the event of a drain stoppage. Clean the drain with a piece of wire or an air compressor. Go outside by the ac unit, there should be a drain pipe.Suck that out with a shop vac.Wipe the inside of the pan so it is nice & clean, you can pour a small amount of bleach down the drain once a month to help keep the drain clean during the warm weather. The ac shops sell small bleach tablets u can put in the pan to help prevent this. Also change ur filter once a month. This will save u money on the electric bill & help prevent dirt from getting in the drain.

It could be better you check for air filter clogging
